I'm so proud of our President today: he signed the Matthew Shepard hate crimes bill.
Thank you, Mr. President.
I never doubted your word for a second.
Once again I wish to say that I'm sorry about how much anger I allowed to spill out into this blog in earlier posts.
I was one angry dude~~maybe I still am.
There's just been so little unity in the movement, so much grudge holding, and so much back stabbing. It's been holding us back for years~~I yearn and ache for something better, for a real LGBT community.
It's my fervent hope that the signing of this bill will be the first step towards true LGBT equality in the USA~~and maybe a first step towards healing a fragmented community.

Obama, faced with the worst mess from a previous administration EVER, has done an amazing job....he's had a war and a major financial meltdown to contend with...
The bill he just signed is a HUGE deal, make no mistake about it....Obama has proven, by his actions, that he is on the side of human, including gay, rights....
I like your recent writings, David. I recently visited for the first time in a while and was impressed by much of what I saw.
Back many years ago when I was writing political pieces, I was plenty pissed by what I encountered and so I wound up writing as if I was yelling.
But I discovered that people would not really read what I said because they associated the evident rage with being out of control and perhaps my not having my facts right. My ability to be rational was questioned. I took a different tact and wrote stridently but not with the rage. I was no less angry about injustice that I saw but the way I informed others about what was going on did change the perception about me. I started to be listened to rather than dismissed as a raving lunatic.
I was still raving underneath but I found an audience by not scaring them or turning them off by rage.
good for you.

Nancy Kersey!
We haven't spoken in so long, I spent the whole day trying to think of the right response to you.
Then it came to me:
Glad to see you here & thanks for the kind words!
